It's been open for about two weeks now, so here's a proper explanation of what I'm doing and why. ## **Why I'm doing this survey** In 2023, my flag design "First Light" was adopted as the new Syracuse city flag. Since then I've watched it show up around the city, and I've heard plenty of individual stories about it. I love those stories, but I need real data from real people to make informed decisions about what I make and how the flag shows up in Syracuse. So I'm asking. ## **What I'm trying to find out** - **Whether you know the flag exists.** Had you heard of it before today? Seen it without knowing what it was? Or is this your first time hearing about it? - **How you show Syracuse pride now.** When you want to show your love for Syracuse, what gear do you reach for: Salt City, 315, SU, local nostalgia, other local teams, or nothing in particular? - **How it feels to see the flag out in the world.** If you spotted a stranger wearing it or flying it, what would that make you feel? - **What you would actually use.** Which flag items would you consider buying? What else would you want to see made? I'd rather base them on what people in Syracuse tell me than on my own assumptions. More broadly, I want to understand what this flag means to the people of Syracuse, so I can keep supporting that connection in ways that make sense. Where that leads depends on what people share with me, and I'm open to being surprised. Suburbs and beyond are welcome. - At the end, you can optionally enter a drawing for one of five city flag prizes. I'll use your email only to contact you if you win, and you can skip it and still submit your answers. ## **Picking the winners** Five winners will be randomly selected. Each winner will receive only one of the following random items: either one 3x5 ft flag, one handheld flag, one lapel pin, one patch, or one sticker sheet.
